Geert Hofstede is one of the major management thinkers in the field of cross-cultural studies. His ground-breaking employee-attitude survey conducted in the late 1960s and early 70s within an American electronic company (IBM) and its foreign subsidiaries led to findings, the analysis of which made significant contributions to our understanding of employee management.
